SARGODHA - District and Sessions Judge Khalid Mehmood Malik on Monday sent former PPP lawmaker Aslam Madhyana to jail on judicial remand in teacher torture case. The police produced the accused in the court amid stringent security. The police told to the court that the interrogation had been completed while challan of the case was submitted in Anti-Terrorism Court. The ATC will take up the case on March 22.The PPP leader has been charged with thrashing and breaking both the legs of 70-year-old schoolteacher Nafees Khan.

1,375 APPLY FOR 9 SLOTS OF FGS: As many as 1,375 unemployed educated applicants have filed their application for the 9 posts of Food Grain Supervisor (FGS) Grade-9 in the Food Department Sargodha Division. According to sources, the educational status for the post was set at mere matriculation but 76 among 1,375 applicants have done their Master’s in different disciplines. A rush of applicant was observed on the occasion of submission of applications at Food Department office.

Probe body head visits PML-N leader:  Head of the chief minister’s inquiry team on the PPP lawmaker alleged torture case, former inspector general of police Punjab Rana Maqbool Ahmed reached Sargodha and visited PML-N leader Ch Hamid Hameed’s house at block No 25 on Sunday morning.

According to PML-N sources, the former IGP offered “fateha” on the demise of Ch Hamid Hameed’s father ex-MNA Ch Abdul Hammad. Later, the head of inquiry team attended a wedding party in Jalalpur Nangiana village. It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had sought the inquiry report within 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the LHC double bench, led by Justice Sheikh Najamul Hassan will hear the writ petition of former PPP lawmaker Aslam Madhyana, in which he requested for the deletion of ATA sections from the FIR lodged against him in the Midh Ranjha Police Station.
