ISLAMABAD - Former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir and central leader of Pakistan People’s Party AJK, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Ch, has demanded of the AJK govt to immediately dismiss all those officers deployed on key posts who were facing corruption charges in the Ehtasab Bureau.

Talking to journalists, he said there was strong evidence that AJK government which was already facing corruption charges, was now deploying such officers at important posts against whom cases were pending with EB. The EB had sent several letters against postings of these officers but the government put aside all the advice and posted them after taking huge amounts from them, he made these remarks while talking to newspersons at his residence.

He said that if EB could not stop the government from appointing these officers, it would lose its credibility by only arresting clerks.

Sultan said that he was giving another ‘chance’ to the state government to withdraw all these officers from their posts, otherwise he would be forced to disclose facts against them.

The former AJK PM made it clear the he did not intend to weaken or dislodge the government but it was his political, moral and party obligation to identify corruption adding, the present rules should take lesson from the destiny of previous rulers.

He showed some documents among the newsmen, which indicated some people were posted on important posts who had already admitted the accusations levelled against them and assured to return plundered money to Ehtasab Bureau, he added. Mehmood demanded of the government to immediately relinquish services of such elements otherwise, it would cast a very bad impression on it, he said.
