3.4-magnitude earthquake hits Punjab

LAHORE- Moderate earthquake has been recorded today in the Punjab province and its suburb areas. According to met department, earth quake of 3.4-magnitude on Richter scale jolted several parts of Punjab including the provincial capital Lahore.
The local met department said that the epicenter of the quake was Hafizabad while its depth was 66 km inside the land.

Locals started evacuating from the buildings and recited Holy verses while rescue teams started spreading across the streets to deal with any major or minor casualty. Disruption in mobile networks occurred in few areas due to the heavy load caused by worried citizens trying to contact their relatives and friends for conveying the earthquake’s information.

The tremors were felt in various cities of the province including Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahab, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattiyaan, Sangla Hill, Bachayki, Narawal, Bhawalnagar, Bhalwal, Renala Khurd, Jalalpur and their suburb parts.
