DIBPL organises sports festival for employees
KARACHI (PR): Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Limited (DIBPL) organised a sports festival for its employees at DHA Sports Club Karachi.
DIBPL Staff Gala (South) saw engagement staff in a cricket tournament which was conducted on a knockout basis and comprised of 15 teams from different departments &branches. After a long day Avari Cluster routed the Hyderi Cluster when it won the final under floodlit stadium in front of humongous and cheering crowd of supporters.  Batting first Clifton Cluster scored 55/2 and restricted the chasing side to 27/7 in 4 over and won the final by 28 runs. Salahuddin (Clifton Cluster) was declared ‘Man of the Match’ for his outstanding bowling while Nabeel Khalid got the “Player of the tournament Award” along with Shafaat Hussain who took home the award for “Best Batsman”.

Shell university drive winners at Grand Prix
KARACHI (PR): Shell Pakistan announced that team Xodus Racing from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute has won the Shell Helix University Drive at an auto show organized at Liberty Market, Lahore posting the fastest lap time of 1 minute 37 seconds in an F1 simulation competition.
Shell Helix University Drive began last year in November with nine top universities across Pakistan competing in an exclusive Formula One simulation competition for a once in a life time chance to attend the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit on March 28-30, 2014.  Over 600 students at each of these nine universities enrolled in the competition, each student team comprised five students, two of which where the team’s drivers.
The simulation didn’t only recreate a Formula 1 racing experience, but used a special racing environment to imitate what a Formula 1 driver experiences and test student drivers’ reflexes and hand eye coordination.

Ground-breaking for Karachi Child Health Institute held
ISLAMABAD (PR): The project for improvement of Child Health Institute in Karachi was launched to mark the start of its construction work. The ground-breaking ceremony for the project was held in Karachi, jointly attended by Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Environment, Coastal Development Authority, Hiroshi Inomata, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan and Mitsuyoshi Kawasaki, Chief representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Pakistan office. The Government of Japan provided grant assistance worth 1.423 billion Japanese Yen (equivalent to around Rs1.38 billion) for this project which is implemented through JICA.
Sindh Government’s Child Health Institute receives pediatric patients from all over the northern Karachi city, whose population is approximately 4.16 million and that of children under 12 (the beneficiary group of the project) is approximately 1.77m.  At the ceremony, Ambassador of Japan Mr. Inomata said, “Providing high-quality healthcare services is one of the priority areas in Japan’s assistance to Pakistan.” 
Ambassador Inomata pointed out severe insufficiency in delivery of child health services in Karachi and mentioned, “thus, upon request of the Government of Sindh, Japan decided to provide a grant aid to expand facilities of the institute to deliver improved health services to children.”

PIM launches diploma programme
LAHORE (PR): Pakistan Institute of Management launched a professional diploma program on ‘Management and Leadership’ in collaboration with Business Edge an innovation of International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The launching ceremony was attended by representatives of IFC, PIM, media, and the students. Director PIM Abid Hussain and Registrar PIM Mr. Adeel Zeerak gave details of this new professional training introduced jointly by PIM and IFC. Asim Faiz Chishti of IFC gave an overview of IFC and the Business Edge trainings.

Saarc CCI summit
LAHORE (PR): Iftikhar Ali Malik, Vice President, SAARC CCI, Pakistan, has welcomed South Asian Women Entrepreneurs Summit to be organised under the aegis of SAARC CCI. Malik said that the Summit is an important event of South Asian Women Entrepreneurs Council. Mrs. Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Chairperson (elect) SCWEC will take over the Chair who is an experienced and inspiring lady. The Conference will be addressed by renowned women entrepreneurs from across South Asia and will make presentation on the gender friendly policies of the Governments.
