LAHORE  - Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has said there is no shortage of food in the country as one million tons of wheat is still available in government stocks.
He was talking to media after the inauguration of International Conference and Expo 2014,”Recent Development in Human Nutrition”, on Wednesday at a local hotel. Bosan dispelled the impression that Thar and Cholistan situation surfaced due to lack of wheat in the country. He said that there could be negligence or some other aspects concerning local management, but the casualties were not due to wheat or food shortage. “There is no severe problem in Cholistan”, he added.
Federal Minister appreciated the efforts of Punjab government for providing timely relief items to Thar people.
