Let me first introduce to you who Shafqat Amanat Ali really is. Shafqat Amanat Ali is the 9th generation of the prestigious Patiala Gharana, a Graduate from GC University Lahore along with being a Roll of Honor holder from the GCU Music Society. He has been awarded with the Civil Award of Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan in 2007. He has not only proved his mettle in Pakistan but he is one of the finest singers of the Sub-continent, who has sung more than 100 songs for the Pakistani as well as the Indian, South-Indian and Bengali film industries. He is the only Pakistani singer whose maximum number of songs have been nominated for the Filmfare, IIFA,GIMA and GIFA awards and he has won most of them. Not only that, he has also performed worldwide and is one of the most celebrated singers in Europe as well as in the South Asian Sub-continent. Music runs in his blood. That was the reason why out of all the artists of Pakistan, he was the chosen one. He was worthy enough to be selected opposite Amitabh Bachchan to represent his country. It is an honor in itself. They considered Shafqat Amanat Ali the perfect person to carry off the task. Why? Because he is something that most of us are not.

I request the emotionally unstable Pakistani nation that please take a deep breath and relax. Stop sending hate to Shafqat Amanat Ali to vent your frustration over our cricket team's pathetic performance. For heaven's sake, take his 'blunder' as a human error and let it go! It can happen to anyone. I mean how many of you have never fumbled on an important day? How many of you haven't ever committed a blunder? Mishaps and blunders can be committed by anybody. Nobody is perfect. If a skillful anchor like Steve Harvey can fumble during a live transmission of the Miss Universe pageant, if Shehbaz Sharif in his speech can instigate a 'Go Nawaz Go' slogan, and if Nawaz Sharif can forget what to say in front of the United Nations panel, then why can't Shafqat Amanat Ali fumble a bit? Is he superhuman?

Learn to be a tolerant nation. What if Amitabh Bachchan had done it? The Indian nation would've never, literally never, disgraced their legend like that. Shafqat Amanat Ali has brought a lot of laurels to the country. But no, one mistake and let’s make memes about him, humiliate him and make him the laughing stock in every possible way. Don't forget that Shafqat Amanat Ali has never ever been scandalized before for currency violations or any other offences, like most of the Pakistani artists - when in India - are charged for. He has always uplifted the honor and dignity of his nation. He has always proved his mettle in India, even after a lot of opposition from music directors like Aadhesh Shrivastav and politicians like Shiv Sena. To stay firm with respect to your profession is certainly not a small thing.

Irony is that almost half of the people who are 'seeming' to be super patriotic about their national anthem, don't  really know the proper lyrics themselves. Moreover these 'so called' patriots who have now transformed into keyboard jihadists don’t really care much about their country's honor, dignity and pride. Do you think that by humiliating your singing maestro like that you are showcasing your patriotism? No, not at all. In fact it is showing how intolerant as a nation you are. It is very easy to criticize and highlight others' follies but very hard to let go and give others a second chance. I would request you all to try to learn to respect others. Give that man the benefit of doubt. Stop giving India a chance to ridicule your cricketers, actors and singers. Support your own people, your own Pakistan!

Legends like Shafqat Amanat Ali should not be judged like that. I know that yesterday wasn't his day but he was, is and will be a legend, forever!
