Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar has taken a sou motu notice on the picture of a funeral passing through sewerage water.

The Picture which is circulating on social media shows men leading a funeral procession carrying a dead body are passing through sewage water.

While hearing the case Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has drawn the attention of attorney general and advocate general towards that serious matter.

He remarked, "people have to offer their prayers and funeral prayers by stepping in sewage water",“this filth is a threat to human health and cleanliness.” he further stated.

Saqib Nisar has asked to inquire about the location of the picture and gave orders to direct local representatives to take measures to improve the basic sanitation facilities in that area.
