Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has challenged the order of a sessions court judge against him in the Lahore High Court.

The accuser, Hamiza Mukhtar, has claimed that Babar Azam’s family has offered her Rs 2 million as hush money. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Hamiza Mukhtar have been made parties in Babar Azam’s petition, which says that the Sessions Court had ordered to register a case against Babar under the Cyber Crimes Act.

The petition however states that the order is contrary to the Cyber Crime Rules 2018.

It says that in light of the decisions of the Supreme Court, the Justice of the Peace is not bound to order the registration of a case. The complainant is innocent and requests justice from the High Court.

Earlier, the Lahore Sessions Court had ordered FIA to register a case against Babar Azam on charges of harassment and blackmail.
