PESHAWAR - The lack of quorum once again disrupted the proceedings of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Tuesday, which caused adjourning the session for another two days.
After a break of six-day, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly resumed proceedings with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. However, after the recitation of Holy Quraan, only four members were present in the house. The members present in the house included Gohar Nawaz Khan (QWP), Akbar Hayat Khan (PML-N), Qurban Ali and Arif Khan Ahmadzai of PTI.
Gohar Nawaz Khan through a point of order pointed out the lack of quorum in the house on which the speaker directed ringing of bells for a period of two minutes. But, even after resuming the proceedings, the house was not found in order and the speaker has to adjourn the proceeding of the house till Friday (May 22, 2015).
The speaker while adjourning the proceeding of the house issued directives to all members for ensuring their attendance in the house, saying that till completion of the quorum, he could not continue the proceeding. It was second consecutive time that the same month when the provincial assembly could not resume the proceedings due to lack of quorum.
The house had faced the same situation on May 12, 2015 when the house failed to resume proceedings and was adjourned till Tuesday.
