Physical remand of former DG Haj extended

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Special Judicial Magistrate Islamabad, Muhammad Wajid Hussain has extended the physical remand of former DG Haj Rao Shakeel involved in corruption in accommodation for Pakistani pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, to four days Judicial Magistrate Wajid Hussain Mughal extended his physical remand on the request of FIA officials as other accused involved in the scandal were busy in Hajj operations. Before the judicial magistrate, Rao Shakil, alleged that the real accused in the scandal was Secretary Religious Affairs Agha Qazalbash. He added that he was being mentally tortured and was not provided the copy of FIR registered against him. The magistrate granted his physical remand for four more days besides ordered FIA to provide the copy of FIR. FIA had arrested former DG Haj Rao Shakeel on charge of corruption in accommodations for Pakistani pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, talking to media Rao Shakeel said that Investigation departments are giving him mental torture and he has been placed in solitary confinement. He said that despite registration of FIR, the photocopy has not been provided to him. He said that actually federal Secretary Religious Affairs Agha Qazalbash is responsible for Haj corruption but he is roaming freely.
