Action against derelict officials on the cards

LAHORE - A decision has been taken to check the service records of all the derelict officials working at the lower courts across the province. For this purpose, special committees will be formed at district level to prepare the lists of these officials, sources said to Nawa-i-Waqt. After completion of lists, strict action would also be taken against such officials. On pointation of superior judiciary, all the District and Sessions Judges have directed the Administration and English Branches of their respective courts to complete the above mentioned lists in three months. It is pertinent to mention here that such lists are being prepared to end corruption from the judiciary. Sources further revealed that such lists would be furnished in three categories. In the first category, those officials would be included who are still working on their posts despite pending inquiries against them on the charges of corruption. In the second, those officials would be included who are given warning for taking bribe but still the courts are receiving complaints against them. In the last, those officials who have not good repute would be included in this category.
