LAHORE Merciless dengue virus put to sword four women on Saturday, taking the death toll in the City to 365. Besides killing four women in a day, the ruthless dengue virus forced dozens of Lahorites to approach public sector hospitals and private healthcare centres for preliminary tests, confirming 46 new cases on Saturday and as such taking the overall tally to 33132. Irshad Bibi (54), a resident of Vehari, lost her battle of life with the deadly dengue at Ittefaq Hospital, Azra Bibi (60) of Karim Park at Ghurki Hospital and Afsheen (27) at Jinnah Hospital while Naseem Bibi (52) of Sanda died at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Out of 46 new cases, 10 were tested positive at Mayo Hospital, 09 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 05 at Services Hospital, 02 each at Jinnah Hospital and Institute of Public Health while 18 cases were reported from private healthcare centres in the City. According to the Punjab Health Department, two dengue patients died in Lahore and one in Vehari district during the last 24 hours. As such death toll in Punjab has reached 335 including 288 in Lahore. As many as 41 new cases have been reported from across the province including 24 from Lahore.
