PESHAWAR - Promising Hamza Amin maintained 10 strokes lead over 36-holes with his 8-under 136 in the ongoing 54 holes 44th Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Ranking Amateur Golf Championship here at the PAF Golf Course on Saturday. Playing side-by-side in the flight of top golfers, Hamza Amin, the leader, Ghazanfar, M Rehman and experienced Mehmood Aziz, but somehow all of them played a calculated round and never went for risky shots. Hamza finished the day by carding 72, 36 at front nine and the same at back nine with birdies at hole no 6, 12 and 17 and a bogey on hole no 1, 15 and 16. Hamza used driver on hole No 13 but if he had not used that and had gone for 3-iron or 4-iron that would might have been better to finish the hole with birdie. He did the same on three more holes 1, 4 and 15 where he finished with a bogey. For Pakistan No 1 Ghazanfar sharing the third position with No. 2 M Rehman, another promising golfer, jumped to take the second place with his gross score 146, two over par, by caring 71 to his overnight 75, 37 at front nine with one birdie at hole no. 9 and 34, two under par, at back nine with two more birdies at hole no. 10 and 17 and a missed stroke at hole no 1. M Rehman slipped from second to third position with his gross score 148, four over par by adding 73, one over par to his overnight 75. Rehman carded 36, par, at front nine and 37, one over par, at back nine with four birdies on holes no. 3, 8, 10 and 16 and made a bogey on hole no 1, 2, 15 and 17. Pakistan's former skipper Mehmood Aziz played with much experience but he developed a pain in his left leg during the round and that too cost him badly when he slipped to five place from 2nd overnight with his gross score 154, as he added 80 to his overnight 74, 40 at front nine and the same at back nine with just one birdie. Mehmood is playing his 21 serial overall, did not fully concentrate due to pain in his leg and made double bogey at hole no 8 par-5 and hole no 18 par-4 besides a single bogey on hole no 1, 6, 8 and 10. Inayat Ullah Yousafzai was struggling at fourth with his gross score 153 and M Naeem was on sixth with his gross score 155.
