LAHORE PPP local leader Rana Shaukat died owing to alleged negligence of doctors of Sharif Medical City Hospital in Raiwind City police precincts on Saturday. According to the family sources, Rana Shaukat was suffering from dengue and despite diagnosing the actual disease the doctors of the aforesaid hospital allegedly continued giving him medicines specified for hepatitis for several days. The doctors discharged him when they saw his condition was going out of control and advised the family to visit another hospital but showed him the patient of hepatitis on discharged slip, said a family member, adding later the patient was shifted to the Doctors Hospital where he died within half an hour. However, the senior doctors of the Doctors Hospital declared he was a dengue victim on discharged slip. The bereaved family believed the medics of the Sharif Medical City Hospital did it intentionally and demanded legal action against the alleged doctors. Later, his funeral prayer was offered and was laid to rest in nearby graveyard. Dozens of local leaders including Saleem Ul Rehman Meo, Naseer Ahmed, Allama Iqbal Town president Abdul Qadeer Khan, Allah Rakha Bhati, former MPA Abdul Rasheed Bhati and former MNA Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar participated in the funeral prayer.
