Umar, Satinder clinch their bouts in style

GUJRANWALA - Umar Pehlwan of Pakistan and Satinder Singh of India won their respective bouts of the second Pakistan-India wrestling championship here at Jinnah Stadium. More than 40,000 spectators witnessed the centuries old desi wrestling championship between players of the arch-rivals of the subcontinent. Umar Pehlwan declared triumphant of the bout due to fracture of right elbow of Indian pehlwan Jagroop Singh. Indian wrestler Satinder Singh easily won his competition against Jani Pehlwan in 18 minutes. Renowned PML (N) leaders Captain (Retd) M Safdar, Ghulam Dastgir Khan, Commissioner Saeed Wahla and DCO Nabil Ahmad Awan along with prominent wresters witnessed the bouts and later distributed cash prize and gift among wrestlers. Earlier, MAli Pehlwan, Wahab Pehlwan, Billa Pehlwan, Majid Pehlwan and Bilal Pehlwan won their bouts while bout between Atif Pehlwan and Pervez Pehlwan remained inconclusive due to shortage of time.
