LAHORE - The central executive committee of the Federal Revenue Alliance Union is going to meet on Tuesday (today) in the chair of its central president Mian Abdul Qayyum at Federal Board of Revenue head office in Islamabad.
The committee will also meet with the Federal Minister Khurshid Shah, who is expected to visit the FBR headquarters the same day.
The meeting will be attended by the executive committee members, regional presidents and general secretaries of the Inland Revenue as well as the Customs, including honourary vice chairman Ch Akram, central SVP Rao Nusrat and Information secretary Rashid Shah.
The meeting will discuss several issues of the workers and later will give presentation in this regard to the member Inland Revenue.
The major issues included: The issuance of the notification regarding up-gradation of income tax inspectors; Withdrawal of CPLA from Supreme Court filed by the FBR against up-gradation of supervisor and office superintendent; Promotion quota of cadre of class-IV; Activation of FBR Foundation; Allocation of 20 per cent quota for employees sons in FBR etc.
The Union President demanded the chairman to withdraw cases against supervisors by the CPLA in Supreme Court. He appreciated the setting up of the FBR Foundation but lamented that the 93.5 percent non-gazetted staff of the FBR has no representation in the management of the Foundation. He said that the union has already applied for changes in the basic rules of the Foundation. He urged the authorities to fulfil the union’s charter of demand.
He said that like previous years the employees union would continue to support the FBR revenue collection drive but the department would have to facilitate the workers also by fulfilling their long-standing demands.
