KARACHI – The government has imposed a ban on riding or parking motorcycles within half-kilometer radius of any imambargah in the city during Muharram.In a notification issued by Sindh Home Department on Monday night, it stated that the shops would also be closed situated within the same radius from imambargahs. Meanwhile, police have registered a case of the bomb blast occurred in Abbas Town on Sunday night that claimed two lives and wounded several others. An FIR No 703/12 under sections of 302/34, 324/34, 427, of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), seven of the anti-terrorism act and ¾ of the Explosive Act was registered on behalf of deceased Abbas Hussain’s brother, namely Zafar Hussain at Sacchal police station against unidentified persons. There was no major breakthrough in the case as investigators were trying to get any possible lead to probe the case. Police said that two people were killed and 19 others including one Rangers personnel namely Siddique was wounded. Police investigators said that they were relating the links between Abbas Town blast with the previous blasts occurred at Chinese consulate blast, Suparco bus attack and Bohra community blasts in Hyderi locality occurred in recent months as these bomb blasts have resemblance. Police also claimed to have detained few suspects and started questioning them to probe into the case but they did not get any evidence which could prove helpful for the investigation. They said that they did not find any CCTV footage as there was no recording being saved. The funeral prayers of namely Abbas Hussain who was sitting near a milk shop at the time of blast, was laid to rest at Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard. After his funeral prayers were offered near his home at Abbas Town under strict security.A large number of people including shia leaders and scholars also present on the occasion. Participants of the funeral procession also staged protest against the incident. The body of the milkman was sent to his hometown Multan for burial.
