Old enmity, poverty claim four lives

HAFIZABAD/PAKPATTAN/MIAN CHANNU - Four persons were killed while another injured critically here in separate incidents of enmity and mishap occurred in Hafizabad, Pakpattan and Mian Channu on Monday.
In Hafizabad, two villagers of Kharal Wala were shot dead by six assailants over old enmity. According to police source, wife of Allah Ditta, a resident of Channi Qasim was murdered last year and the accused party suspected that Muhammad Yousaf and his nephew Fakhar, resident of Kharal Wala had hatched the conspiracy to kill her.
Yousaf and his nephew were on the way to their village on Monday a bike when the accused including Faisal, Ansar, Mudassar, Zubair etc. allegedly opened indiscriminate firing on them, killing them on the spot.
The Kaseesay Police have registered a case against Faisal and six others.
In PAKPATTAN, a youth was killed while his father sustained gunshot wounds when rivals opened fire on them over a land dispute.
As per details, Akbar Ali, a resident of Fareed Nagar had a land dispute with his neighbours Ahmed Shah etc.
The other day, Ahmed Shah along with his three accomplices opened fire. Resultantly, 17-year-old Ahmed Raza died on the spot while his father Akbar Ali received bullet injuries. Meanwhile, the Police have arrested four accused from the scene.
In MIAN CHANNU, a poverty-stricken man committed suicide by taking poisonous pills here on Monday. Ashraf, a resident of Mohallah Rehmania, was confronted with severe financial which often led to domestic disputes and quarrels. Disappointed over his inability, he swallowed poisonous pills to get rid of miseries. He died before getting medical treatment.
