The Punjab Textbook Board has corrected the mistakenly-published Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s date of birth in the subject of Social Studies for Class 4, a spokesman said.
The board press release cited its spokesman as saying the mistake was in a few copies printed for 2014-15, while it was printed correct in other copies. The mistake was rectified following a media report. The official claimed that Dr Iqbal’s the date of birth was correct in all the textbooks printed previously.
“The date of birth has been printed correct in all the textbooks being sold in the market. It is also correct in all the textbooks of English Medium,” he added. The PTB spokesman said that letters were being issued to concerned schools with regard to the date of birth printed in those copies. He said that the authorities had taken notice of the mistake and ordered immediate action against responsible people, which would be completed in three days.
