Rawalpindi - Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz yesterday ordered action against vehicles using tainted glasses and unauthorised number plates, saying such vehicles should be impounded in police stations.

He also asked the traffic wardens to take strict action against those using mobile phones while driving.

He also said that the public transporters who were involved in charging extra fares should also be brought under scanner and legal action should also be taken against them.

He said that the seminars should also be arranged to create road safety awareness among the road users.

Chief Traffic Officer asked the citizens to remove black papers from the glasses of their vehicles or else legal action would be taken against them.

Earlier, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja had ordered CTO Shoaib Khurram Janbaz to accelerate action against the owners of vehicles plying on roads with tainted glasses and unauthorised number plates and committing violations of other traffic laws.
