Rawalpindi - A 60-year-old man was killed when a speeding dumper hit him at Katcha Stop on IJ Principal Road here yesterday.
The Rescue 1122 shifted the dead body of the man to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) mortuary. However, the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained so far.
The incident took place within limits of Police Station (PS) Shamas Colony and police arrested the accused driver.
According to details, the man was standing on Katchi Stop on IJP Road when a speeding dumper bearing registration number TKX-956 hit him. As a result, the man sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot. The people present on scene caught the driver namely Ameer Shah and handed him over to PS Shamas Colony officials, where a case was registered against him. The dumper was also impounded by police. Upon calling, Rescue 1122 reached the scene and moved the dead body to PIMS mortuary.
