ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid on Friday said that no proofs regarding rigging in NA-122 have surfaced so far.

Talking to the media in the federal capital, Senator Rashid said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) could not back rigging allegations with reliable evidences on any platform. He lauded provincial governments for holding of local body elections in peaceful environment. Rashid said that holding of elections in such smooth environment is victory of all stakeholders in the LB polls.

Rashid said that Punjab former governor Chaudhry Sarwar had promised to resign from politics if rigging allegations in NA-122 are proved baseless. However, he said that no evidence was presented anywhere which had Universal Children’s Day to prove alleged rigging.

The minister also addressed a gathering in Islamabad today in connection with the World Children Day. Rashid had said that the government is taking steps to eradicate child labour in the country.

Retaliating to Senator’s taunt, PTI’s Sarwar said that at least 4,500 votes were transferred out of NA-122 and proofs of the crime would be put forth soon.

Earlier in October after PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq had again defeated PTI’s candidate in NA-122 re-election, Rashid had said that the by-election was contested between Imran Khan’s allegations and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s legitimacy.

The minister had lashed out at Imran Khan, stating that Khan’s false accusations were crushed by general masses in NA-122 polls.

He tauntingly said that ‘The Moula Jutt Khan’ has turned into ‘Yumla Jutt’ after Lahoris announced their verdict in the favor of PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq on October 11.

While talking to the media in Lahore in October, Rashid had said that PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) attacked the Parliament but government’s patience and tolerance failed the sit-in.

“Imran Khan crossed all limits of insolence, we crossed all limits of tolerance and patience”, said Rashid. He added that Imran Khan has mastered the art of threatening. “First the streets of Pakistan rejected Imran’s claim and then the Judicial Commission. Even kids are not convinced by rigging allegations”, he said.

“If there was rigging in NA-122, how did PTI’s MPA win the election? Imran Khan is obsessed with rigging. He must get rid of it” said Rashid.
