LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat e Islami Sirajul Haq, has said that the tyrant Baloch Sardars were primarily responsible for the present deprivations of their province as they cared only for their personal gains.

Talking to a women delegation from Balochistan which called on him at Mansoora, he said that the federal government had been also continuously ignoring the problems faced by the people of Balochistan.

He said that immediate measures were needed for the development of Blochistan province and for brining it at par with the other provinces. He said the people of Balochistan had a right over the resources of their province. The 50 member delegation was headed by the chief of the JI Balochistan women wing Samina Saeed, and Pari Gul Baloch, and Shazia Ikram.

The JI chief said that the Baloch Sardars had been opposing developments projects related to education, roads and health and jobs in the province only to retain their hold. He said that the young ones of these Sardars were getting education in London, Paris and New York but they would not allow primary schools in their own areas.

The Sardars got medical treatment in abroad but opposed Basic Health centers in their localities. As a result, the people of Balochistan had remained illiterate, jobless and without basic health facilities. The plight of government schools in area like Gowadar was deplorable. And here was marked difference between the government schools in Islamabad and Balochistan.

Sirajul Haq stressed that the development projects of Balochistan should be given preference in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and the local youth should be provided jobs on preference basis. He said that the government had so far not been able to provide clean drinking water to the people in Balochistan and the women folk had to fetch drinking water from far off places. Similarly, the students had to travel for miles to reach schools while the roads were mostly dilapidated.
