Multan-Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana has said that Pakistan is fully capable of responding to any aggression and the enemy must not misconstrue Pakistan’s desire for peace as weakness.
Talking to journalists here after addressing a function organised by Emersonians on Saturday, the Governor pointed out that with the inauguration of CPEC and Gwadar port, doors of progress and prosperity have opened up to the country. “This development will bring prosperity to the whole country, especially the deprivation of Balochistan will be removed,” he hoped. He said that the enemy could not digest Pakistan achievements and has been trying to harm the country through different means. He said that the first trade convoy reached Gwadar successfully and navy escorted it to international waters safely. To a query, the Governor said that gas loadshedding would go down due to LNG import.
Earlier, addressing the Emersonians, mr Rajwana said that Pakistan has started the journey towards progress and prosperity in terms of CPEC but the enemy hatched conspiracies against it. He said that the CPEC is a game changer and the nation would not let the conspiracies of the enemy succeed. He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb is moving forth with success as a result of which peace prevailed in the society and economy improved.
Referring to education, he said that we needed to offer latest education to the youth in view of needs of current age so that our youngsters could compete internationally. He said that the image of Pakistan on international level improved considerably due to the policies of the government. He said that the Turkish President interpreted the aspirations of the oppressed Kashmiris in his speech.
He said that all political leaders would have to work on one point agenda; to promote Pakistan. He said that the masses were tired of mere slogans and now they demanded solid performance. He said that he owed a lot to Multan, adding that he would make all out efforts to get a mega project from the Prime Minister when he would come down to Multan next month to inaugurate metro project. He disclosed that Wasa was going to launch a master plan which would resolve all sewerage problems of Multan. He said that South Punjab still needed many more development projects, though Kidney centre and burn unit had been activated.
Talking to the students of NFC Institute of Technology, the Governor said that we needed to put special emphasis on research besides offering quality education to the students. “We need to persuade our students to acquire technical education and play role in development of the country,” he asserted. He said that CPEC was a grand project and a large number of engineers and skilled persons would be needed for it in future. He stressed upon the students to learn Chinese to become compatible with Chinese officials working on the CPEC. He also asked the universities to produce graduate while keeping in view the market demand.
Meanwhile, talking to delegations of PML-N workers, he said that the PML-N did the politics of values and not the power, adding that all those doing the politics of hatred would achieve nothing. He said that the success of PML-N in by and local government elections was reflective of public’s trust in its policies. He said that the party had put the country on path of progress and prosperity and the CPEC project would prove a road to success for Pakistan.
He anticipated that Pakistan would soon be counted as developed countries instead of developing one. He said that the elimination of power crisis was top priority of the government and loadshedding would be ended by 2018. He said that terrorism was in full power when the PML-N came into power but the incumbent government controlled law and order situation by uprooting terrorism. “Today Karachi had become the city of lights once again,” he cited an example.
He claimed that the investors were willing to come down to Pakistan for investment which was reflective of the success of PML-N and its government.
Referring to Multan Metro Bus Project, he said that it was a historic project which was more beautiful than Lahore and Rawalpindi metro projects. He said that the metro project would offer direct benefit to the poor people as it would offer latest and luxurious commuting facilities to the people.
