/Agencies -SHEIKHUPURA/JHELUM/GUJRANWALA-Eight persons including three of a same family died in separate road accidents occurred in different areas here on Sunday.
In Sheikhupura, three members of a same family - a man, his and daughter-in-law - died in a road accident here on GT Road near Lala Shah Kaku on Sunday.
The victims identified as Razaq, his son Usama and Usama's wife Amina were on the way to Gujranwala in a car from Lahore. All of sudden the car rammed into a stationed tractor-trolley, as a result the three died on the spot while his second son Asad sustained serious injuries and was rushed to nearby hospital. The Muridke Saddr Police have launched investigation into the incident.
In Jhelum, two persons died and more than a dozen others got injured when a van fell into a gorge here on Sunday.
Police said that a passenger van, coming from Pind Dadan Khan to Jhelum, skidded off road due to speeding and it plunged into a ravine near Jalalpur Sharif.
Resultantly, two persons died on the spot while 13 others sustained injuries who were shifted to THQ Hospital Jalalpur Sharif.
In Gujranwala, three persons died and two others injured in a road accident here on Sunday. Rescue sources said that a speeding van rammed into a rickshaw.
Three people died on the spot in the accident while two others were seriously injured. The bodies and injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The police impounded the van, rickshaw and after registering a case against the van driver at large started the investigation.
