Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed on Tuesday claimed that provision of housing to low-income class was the top priority of the current government.
Mahmoodur Rasheed stated this during a visit to the land allocated for ‘Apna Ghar Housing Scheme’ along with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir Khan Tareen in Lodhran.
Mahmoodur Rasheed said that under the ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Programme’, 800 plots in two categories will be provided to the poor in Lodhran. The minister said that they would constitute Pakistan Housing Authority to monitor the overall housing projects across the country.
On the occasion, PTI senior leader Jahangir Khan Tareen said that the housing scheme was a gift of Prime Minister Imran Khan for the people of Lodhran. He said they were working on South Punjab province and will launch South Punjab secretariat next fiscal year in Multan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has opened the registration to citizens under the first phase of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).
