IGP for women empowerment and gender balance in police force

Islamabad Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, visited a woman police station in the capital on Tuesday.

He inspected the existing facilities as well as working of the woman police station. He was dissatisfied with the current working of woman police in terms of response to domestic violence, gender issues and investigation.

Afterwards, the IGP interacted with female police officers and addressed their complaints related to transportation, accommodation, education of their children and rotation policy.

The IGP also spelled out his policy regarding gender balance, woman empowerment and bringing them on mainstream to cultivate a soft image of police.

He did not rule out the pressures and constraints faced by officers in a male-dominated society. He assured the ladies police to bring up their issues before the government and get resolved on priority basis.
