The Chief of Army Staff, General Javad Qamar Bajwa on Tuesday has said that Pakistan has paid the highest military, economic, political and social cost and the world should acknowledge that.
He was responding to the United State President Donald Trump's recent statements about Pakistan not doing “a damn thing” for the US.
The army chief said in a statement released by the ISPR, “We have paid the highest military, economic, political and social cost and the world should acknowledge that. We shall continue to contribute towards peace in Afghanistan but Pakistan’s honour and Pakistan’s security shall always stay premier.”

General Bajwa said that Pakistan has successfully fought with terrorism and also contributed to the peace and stability in the region.
"Pakistan has done much more for peace in Afghanistan than any other country”, he further added.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan responded by a series of tweets on Monday, ridiculing minuscule $20 billion ‘aid’ from the US in the face of the debilitating cost paid by Pakistan in the terror war and telling Trump to put his record straight.
Imran Khan in his biting rejoinder called on Trump to name an ally which has sacrificed against militancy more than Pakistan and he urged Washington against trying to make Islamabad “a scapegoat” for its Afghanistan failures.
It is pertinent to mention here that American President Donald Trump sparked the fire when he, in an interview to Fox News on Sunday, said he had cancelled assistance to Pakistan earlier this year because "they don't do anything for us, they don't do a damn thing for us".
