Malik likely to be awarded apartment in UAE

MUMBAI - There is a good news for Pakistani skipper Shoaib Malik. The 27-year-old right handed batsman and off-break bowler is likely to be gifted an apartment in Ajman by an UAE-based leading real estate M/s Al-Bakarah Group.   "Though he was not a man of the series in the recently concluded four-nation Twenty20 tournament in Toronto, his performance as a Pakistan captain was impressive and therefore we have also decided (along with Sri Lanka's Ajantha Mendia), to gift a luxurious apartment to Shoaib Malik", Al-Bakarah's CEO Imran Khan said from Dubai. "Both players have been gifted these apartments in Ajman's tallest tower "Burj Manara," he added. At a cost of $1.1 Billion "Burj Manara", which stands for "lighthouse of Ajman", will add to Ajman's recent real estate boom. Burj Manara in Ajman will feature a total 426 residential units. The 90-storey Burj Manara will have a built up area of 1.6 million sq ft where the top 10 floors will offer serviced apartments while the rest of the floors will have residential and commercial components. Shoaib Malik may prefer to visit the site when he travels to Abu Dhabi for the three ODI's against West Indies next month. He has been retained as a skipper of the Pakistan team.
