KARACHI - MAKRO has maintained its trademark, which derives the trust of customers by maintaining fair prices of all assortments of commodities. Owing to the recent sugar crisis with inevitable impact on the prices, MAKRO continues to sell sugar at Rs. 61/kg with the collaboration of Sindh government to facilitate the customers and to keep them safe from market manipulators who openly sold the sugar at more than Rs. 80 per kg in local market. MAKRO sold out the huge stock of sugar having quantity of 440 ton since August in Karachi and Lahore, says a statement issued hereon Tuesday. It said that the increasing number of MAKRO stores at different places of city shows the growing popularity of the multinational chain of stores among the masses, which not only introduced a new shopping culture in the country but ensured the availability of good quality products at reasonable rates. The statement said that though the concept of large stores is relatively new in Pakistan, yet given the prevailing economic conditions in the country and ever-rising inflationary indicators, the lager stores like MAKRO are a complete success as they offer a wide range of commodities under one roof adding affordability and convenience to shopping experience of customers. MAKRO offers discount on the sale of even a single unit. This attracts end-consumers, mostly families, to the stores. About 47 per cent of MAKROS clients are 'end-consumers.
