Hillary Clinton arrives in capital on two-day visit

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived here Thursday evening on a two-day visit to meet Pakistani leadership and discuss various aspects of the Pak-US strategic relationship.She was received at the airport by Senator Sughra Imam and high officials of the foreign office.Hillary Clinton was accompanied by Central Intelligence Agency chief David Petraeus, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey and Special Representative of the US President on Pakistan and Afghanistan, Marc Grossman. During her stay, Clinton will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani. She will also hold talks with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar. The two sides are expected to discuss the strained relationship between the two countries in the wake of increased US demands for expanding the scope of operations against the Haqqani network. Pakistan is likely to stress that it would conduct military operation in North Waziristan, if and whenever required. Central Intelligence Agency Chief David Petraeus and Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey will hold talks with Pakistans top military brass.
