Inquiry Comission meets Qaeda leaders wife

ISLAMABAD - Inquiry Commission on Abbottabad action on Wednesday once again conducted detailed interview of wife of al Qaeda leader Abu Ahmed Al-Kuwaiti. A meeting of the Inquiry Commission on Abbottabad action was held in the Cabinet Division on Wednesday under the Chairmanship of Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, former senior judge of the Supreme Court and the President of the Commission. The meeting was attended by IG (Retd) Abbas Khan, Ashraf Jehangir Qazi and Lt Gen.(Retd) Nadeem Ahmed who are members of the Commission. In the last meeting, the Commission conducted an exhaustive interview of the Director General ISI to know his perspective leading to Abbottabad incident. The Commission had already taken statements and investigated the wives and daughters of Osama Bin Laden. As per the previous decision of Commission, in view of the record and evidence placed before the Commission in relation to Dr. Shakeel Afridi, the Commission is of the view that prima facie, a case of conspiracy against the State of Pakistan and high treason is made out against him. Therefore, a case under relevant law should be registered against Dr. Shakeel Afridi and he should be proceeded in accordance with the law. It was also decided in the previous decision of commission that the alleged OBL Compound/House at Abbottabad should be handed over to civil administration of Abbottabad for disposal in accordance with the relevant law.
