CHUNIAN – To pay tribute to Malala Yousafzai, a poster competition titled "Malala - Daughter of the Nation" was held at Hazara Public School and College, Changa Manga.

Addressing the students and teachers on the occasion, Kasur ASP Shaista Rehman said that the attack on Malala is a shameful act. Malala Yousafzai is not only daughter of Swat but of the whole nation. She said the people who want to destroy peace in the country cannot be Muslim or Pakistanis. They are in fact terrorists with no religion and heart, she added.

Terrorists, she said, cannot suppress the voice of Malala. “They cannot cease voice of the nation because at this point, every girl of the nation is Malala. No society can make progress without education. The school has taken a unique step to spread Malala's message among the students. Students will bring an end to terrorism.”

She praised the students who took part in the competition. Ex-city nazim Rana Wajid Ali Khan said that the voice of Malala is a gift for the nation. Attacking on Malala means attacking on Pakistan.

Terrorists are doing these acts to keep Pakistan involved in the war of the US. They have accepted defeat by attacking a 14-year old girl. But, he said, by these posters the students have promised that they will continue to protect the light of education even in the worst conditions.

Notables of the area including Rana Shafqat Raja, Rana Babar, Nadeem Mustafai, Ashraf Advocate, Suleman, Javed Mustafai, Afzal Mujahid, Rana Yousaf, Agha Riaz, Nabeel Pervaiz and Waris were also present. At the end, the chief guest declared Tehreem Fatima Khan, Ramish Razzaq and Aimen Zafar as first, second and third position holders respectively in the competition and distributed prizes to them.

ATTACK TERMED A CONSPIRACY: In Noorpur Thal, the teachers, students and other staff of the Government Special Education Centre (GSEC) organized collective prayers for the health and prosperity of Malala Yousafzai here the other day.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Kazim Hussain, former Nazim Union Council Haji Muhammad Farooq and other speakers said that Malala episode was a global conspiring against Islam and Pakistan which attackers hatched to divert world attention from the globally most condemned issue of the blasphemous movie.

They urged the people and the Muslim Ummah to boycott all the US and European-made products to halt their economy after the blasphemous movie and attack on Malala Yousafzai.
