Govt pledges minorities’ welfare

Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael has said that the PML-N government was making efforts to remove the sense of deprivations of the minority communities, and protection of their rights in the country.
Addressing a meeting of the Christian community at Baara Pathar locality of Sialkot, the federal minister said that the minorities had been enjoying complete religious freedom in the country. They have been playing their pivotal role in national peace, prosperity, integrity, solemnity and development, he added.
Flanked by MPA Zulfiqar Ghauri and other leaders, Michael said that the government was empowering the minority communities to use their talent for national development being equal citizens of the state. He stated that every religion gives the message of love, peace and compassion for humanity.
Dry weather forecast: The local met office has forecast dry weather for the city and its suburbs during the next 24 hours.
On Sunday, maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded as 32.2 degree celsius and 19.5 degree centigrade, respectively. The humidity was recorded 70 per cent at 8 am and 32 per cent at 5 pm.
