KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq said that the politics in the country had been made a business in which the election was put to auction.
Addressing a public meeting at Jaccobabad, he said that despite repeated elections, the situation of common man had not improved. He said that those who were given huge land by the British for treachery to the masses had been in power and they had been availing their turn one after the other. He stressed upon the masses to reject this system altogether.
JI Sindh chief Merajul Huda Siddiqui and deputy chief, Muhammad Husain Mehnati, also addressed.
The JI chief said that if these politicians remained at the top with mere change of faces, the fate of the country and the nation would not improve, and added that the present oppressive political system did not provide solution to the problems facing the country.
“I have seen Islamabad from close and have noticed that there is every facility for the rich but no room for the poor”, he remarked. He said that there were only two parties in the country, the first was of the rich and the second of the poor and the oppressed. He said while the rich never fight with one another, the poor stand divided. He said he had come out to unite the poor in the country because if they stood united, they would be much stronger. He said that only the Islamic system could guarantee a developing and prosperous Pakistan.
Referring to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s address in Karachi, he said the PPP had been in power in Sindh for years and even now it was in power in Sindh, Gilgit and Azad Kashmir. Then against whom Bilawal was making a complaint? He said that at the Karachi meeting, Asif Zardari and Bilawal had talked of the oppression on the poor and the deprivations of the Sindh province.
He said five percent dishonest politicians and bureaucrats have looted the country. He has ruled out imposition of martial law in the country, saying situation is returning to normalcy now.
JI chief urged that all the provinces should be given their due rights. He said "we will awaken the people and tell them that there should be only one slogan for the prosperity of the country that " go status quo go".
Corruption of one and a half billion rupees is committed in Pakistan every year, he held. About 200 billion dollars of the ruling clans are stashed in off shore accounts, he added. Those families are occupying the country which betrayed their nation and sided with the British. Unfortunately, offspring of these families are seen seated in all the institutions of the country.
He stated if Pakistan becomes Islamic state then doors of blessing will open to us, Pakistan will become precedent of matchless property and development in the world, education will be available to all under a uniform system and children of president and haves not will study in one school.
