Minister for Railways Shiekh Rasheed Ahmad on Saturday vowed to introduce 100 more new coaches in a month.
According to media sources, the minister said, "we will introduce 100 new coaches in a month and in the first 50 days of our government there has been an increase of Rs1 billion in railways' earnings.”
Talking about the improvements that have been made in railways, he said, "improvements in catering service on Green Line are underway and will also ensure the availability of Wi-Fi in three trains in the coming week".
"On Sukkur and Rohri train stations, Wi-Fi is installed and internet will be provided on every major station in the coming months," he said.
“We have also made a task force to make freight trains more functional," Sheikh Rasheed further added.
To facilitate the passengers a shuttle train will run from Karachi to Dhabeji and another from Karachi to Hyderabad, he told.
Sheikh Rasheed said, It is totally baseless to say that we have raised the fares of trains, rather, fares for Bolan Express from Karachi to Quetta have been revised and reduced from Rs1,200 to Rs700, whereas the fare of a train berth on Akbar Express from Quetta to Lahore has been reduced from Rs1,000 to Rs800,
