Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Saturday has taken notice of the controversial speech made by PML-N leader Nehal Hashmi.
The spokesperson of Pemra stated that notices have been issued to the television channels which aired the speech of Nihal Hashmi.
Nehal Hashmi is in the habit of giving controversial statements against the state institutions, however, the question arises as to why did the television channels broadcast the speech, the spokesperson added.
All the necessary actions will be taken against the TV channels failing to submit a satisfactory reply, he stated.
Former PML-N senator Nehal Hashmi in his recent speech allegedly criticising the role of army and politicians in the development of the country.
On Friday while addressing at the Karachi Medical and Dental College, Nehal reportedly said, "army has done nothing to maintain peace and betterment of the country".
After this controversial speech, the PML-N distanced itself from Nehal Hashmi and former law minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah said, what Hashmi said it is his own opinion it does not reflect the party's views.
It is pertinent to mention here that PML-N leader had previously been imprisoned for making controversial remarks against the judiciary.
