Abbasi’s bail in ephedrine quota scam extended




RAWALPINDI – A divisional bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday extended pre-arrest bail of PML-N MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi till September 26 in ephedrine quota allocation scam, owing to non-presence of his lawyer.
LHC Rawalpindi bench Justice Shahid Hameed Dar and Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa granted extension in pre-arrest bail to PML-N MNA till September 26, 2012.
PML-N MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, after the court proceedings, while talking to media men leashed out at Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) saying: “How could the force which had no knowledge even about the quantity of ephedrine investigate me in the scam”.
He alleged that force commander Brig Faheem has personal grudges with him (Abbasi). He also alleged that there were 6000 chemists in Bohar Bazaar but none of them being interrogated by ANF. “ANF on the nod of Brig Faheem just harassing me being politician and my employees” Abbasi said in a very angry tune.
Meanwhile, LHC Rawalpindi Bench deferred hearing against former director general health, Dr Asad Hafeez in ephedrine scam.
