MIRPUR (AJK) - As many as four people were killed and one injured seriously after they drowned in a flooded nullah and a pond at two separate incidents in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, police sources said.Two persons lost their lives and another was seriously injured after they drowned in the nullah in Forward Kahota Town of Haveili district. They belonged to the same family. They were passing through the nullah. The deceased were identified as Matloob Hussain and Muhammad Salim. Body of Matloob Hussain was recovered whereas rescue teams were in search of the missing body of Muhammad Salim.The woman, identified as Riffat Bibi of the same village, was rescued by the locals. These persons were coming down from the top mountainous areas along with their herd of cattle heads to the village when they met the tragic incident.In another incident, two children drowned in a seasonal pond at adjoining New Khaliqabad town. The deceased were identified as 10-year-old Adnan Yasin and 9-year-old Muhammad Suleman, residents of Alfateh Town of Nai Abadi Khaliqabad. The SHO said that the bodies of both the children have been recovered from the pond by the rescue teams of 1122 and the Afzalpur police station.
