AHMEDPUR EAST - Stolen gold and other valuables worth Rs6.5 million were handed over to local Jewellers. This was disclosed by DSP Rana Naveed Mumtaz while talking to newsmen here the other day. He said that the CIA Lahore Police had nabbed an inter-district robbers gang and thieves and had recovered Rs2 million gold of Sial Jewellers stolen in 2009 from their shop situated at Chowk Munir Shaheed.  Four robbers were taken to City Police for investigations. The police recovered stolen property including a car and gold Rs4.5 million on their pointation. Highlighted the police performance, he further said that the Circle Police traced 14 gangs of motorbike snatchers., lifters and cattle thieves etc and recovered stolen property of Rs17.1 million from their possession. He said that the police arrested 22 a category and 146 b-category proclaimed offender in the month of August. The police also recovered drug and illicit weapons from them. Approx. 0.2 mn people have been uprooted and nearly 0.5 mn acres of farmland is under water. Flood water has damaged 190 schools, 90 have totally been razed to the ground.Pak Army has rescued more than 2.7 mn flood hit people to the safe places. Rescue 1122 has saved more then 4000 flood victims. In Tehsil Jampur flood damaged roads, link roads canals and distributaries embankments and culverts are swiftly being repaired.Up till Daajal - Harand Road, Darbar Hamza Sultan – Basti Malahan road have been restored. Work on Haji Pur – Lal Garh road has 80% compeleted.
