SCBA chief condemns Musa’s manhandling




ISLAMABAD – President SCBA Yaseen Azad showing his utmost annoyance and remorse on behalf of entire Supreme Court Bar Association, sturdily condemns the atrocious and exasperating incident took place on the entry gate of Supreme Court of Pakistan, on 14th of September 2012, where uniformed and plain clothes officials of Anti-Narcotics Force harassed, insulted and manhandled our brother Advocate Ch Faisal Hussain and his client Syed Ali Musa Gillani, a parliamentarian and Member of National Assembly in most humiliating and un-warranted manner, when they were coming to surrender before the apex court.
SCBA takes very serious note of the observation made by the honourable bench in its order dated 14-09-2012 and demanded strict action against all those officials and others who were involved in this hateful effort. The SCBA president said that SCBA considers blocking and cordoning off the Supreme Court entry gates by uniformed officials is the most unbearable and agonizing act for the legal community. The SCB considers it a wilful act to hinder the administration of justice and gross negation and denial of fundamental right of “access to justice” to the law abiding body of lawyers vows not to tolerate any such like incidents and pledged to take up the matter on the appropriate forums.
The SCBA condemns the harassment and humiliation of lawyers in any manner and undertake that if any such like incident takes place in future the bar would take appropriate action against those who found involved in it. The SCBA ensured its unconditional support to save the honour, dignity, and might of the honourable courts and to provide safe guards to the legal rights of the members of legal fraternity.
