KARACHI - A three-day Thai Food Festival would be organized at the Pearl Continental hotel here from September 21. The event will be held in collaboration with the Thai Consulate General in Karachi.

According to the organisers, the authentic Thai cuisine would be presented at the Festival that would feature exclusive Thai dishes. The Consul General of Thailand in Karachi, Wichai Sirisujin, spoke of the close friendly ties between Thailand and Pakistan.

He said that a number of events have been planned to foster the cultural and trade ties between the two countries and promote people to people contacts.

The Thai Consul General also called for promoting further the trade ties between the two countries. He said that the current volume of bilateral trade between Thailand and Pakistan is about one billion dollars.

The Consul General said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of commencement of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Pakistan.

He said that a seminar on tourism as well as trade would be organized besides exhibition of handicrafts from Thailand in Karachi in December this year.

The General Manager of PC Karachi, Azeem Qureshi, presented the welcome address.

He said that a series of events have been planned in the next six months to help enhance ties between Pakistan and Thailand.

Arif Suleman of Pak-Thai Friendship Association, also expressed his views on the occasion.
