SIALKOT: Gepco teams have detected 427 cases of electricity theft in Sialkot district besides collecting a total of Rs210 million fines from the pilferers during the ongoing crackdown, disclosed Gepco Superintending Engineer Zahur Ahmed.

Talking to newsmen at his office, he said that the Gepco teams had checked 4,221 power connections and detected 427 cases of theft. He detailed that the Gepco had collected Rs8.7 million from the power pilferers without registering FIRs against them and Rs14.4 million from accused in Awais Chip cases, the SE Gepco added. Gepco Public Relations Deputy Director Rana Muhammad Jahangir was also present.–Staff Reporter
