The district administration has sealed 97 premises out of 800 points found as breeding grounds of dengue mosquitoes and got 110 cases registered.

DCO Ali Jaan Khan told The Nation on Thursday that dengue surveillance teams equipped with 33 dewatering sets, 59 fogger machines, 262 IRS pumps and 965 surveillance kits raided these points and factories. He added the teams found a total of 800 dengue breeding places including auto workshops, service stations, under construction buildings in the district.

The surveillance teams were working day and night to eradicate dengue larva in urban and rural areas, said the DCO. He added that the district administration was educating the people through announcements in mosque, distribution of pamphlets and arrangement of seminars and workshops to eradicate dengue. He said effective eradication of dengue mosquito was possible through spray and preventive measures. He said in this connection no negligence would be tolerated. The DCO directed the department heads to adopt cleanliness arrangements in public and private schools, parks, graveyards, hotels, service stations, auto workshops, hospitals and other places.
