North Zone beat East Zone

ISLAMABAD - East Zone lost the Regional Inter-district Senior Cricket 2013-14 match by seven wickets despite taking 22 runs first innings lead against North Zone and finishing the second day on a very high note. At Marghzar cricket ground on Thursday, East Zone resumed their second innings at the overnight score of 125-5 and were all out for 188 in 55.3 overs. Kashif Majeed’s superb 109 failed to save his side from defeat. North Zone were down and out for the first two days of the match, and the title was very much in the hands of East Zone as they just needed to draw this particular match. Requiring 212 runs for victory, North Zone achieved the target in 47.2 overs losing only three wickets. Syed Zeeshan Ali was top scorer with unbeaten 107. –Staff Reporter
