BAHAWALPUR - “If Allah Almighty gives us the chance, then I’ll take back the lands from the landlord and distribute them among the poor. I want to see Holy Quran in the hands of Pakistan Chief Justice rather than any other book, and as long as this does not happen we’ll think that Quaid’s Pakistan has not been created yet.”
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing a public gathering here on Friday.
“Almost 68 years have been passed; we saw military generals, landlords and capitalists in power. We also saw democracy without the Shariat,” he said, adding that the JI would implement the government of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Quaid-e-Azam said on first day that Pakistan’s constitution will be based on Quran and Sunnah, he argued.
He said, “We’ll give another week to PM Nawaz Sharif, PTI chairman Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri and contact them again on September 24, and not let them stranded in this situation.” He said that suggestion has been given to Tahirul Qadri to pursue the case of Model Town incident in another province’s court and make a joint investigation team, and CM Shahbaz Sharif will leave the government if he is held guilty.
Sirajul Haq said that PM Nawaz Sharif called the National Assembly opposition leader and other party heads to give him the best suggestions. He said that he had given a suggestion to Nawaz to arbitrate the situation and despite enjoying majority in the House, the rulers are facing the problems, and it means Allah Almighty is not happy with the PML-N government.
“I have also asked Shahbaz Sharif to ask for Allah’s forgiveness and as long as you (Shahbaz) do not do so, dengue, floods and other disasters will keep on coming,” he added.
He said, “I ask for Allah’s forgiveness but the President, PM and chief ministers of Pakistan should also practically ask for Allah’s forgiveness.” MPA Bahawalpur Dr Syed Wasim Akhtar also addressed the public gathering.
