ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has offered Turkey sale of Super Mushak aircraft with ‘Turkish specifications’, few months after Ankara expressed interest in acquiring the trainer jets.

Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif made the offer to Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Salih Zeki Colak, who called on the minister on Tuesday.

Khawaja Asif said that Islamabad valued the cooperation from Ankara in the provision of trainer-37 aircraft to Pakistan on gratis basis, said a statement.

The defence minister also apprised the Turkish general on Pakistan’s success in Zarb-e-Azb military offensive and National Action Plan against terrorism and extremism.

Asif thanked the Turkish Navy for their participation in the exercise AMAN-13. He also invited the navy to participate in AMAN-17 exercise scheduled in February 2017.

The defence minister also extended an invitation to Turkish officials for IDEAS-2016, which is scheduled to be held in Karachi on November 22-25.
