SIALKOT-The government has allocated a special development fund of Rs21 billion for development schemes in Gujranwala Division under Prime Minister’s National Development Programme.

According to officials, the Gujranwala commissioner would be the project director of the Divisional Development Programme which would also be supervised by the DCOs of Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala.

The government would provide Rs500 million each to all the 21 constituency of National Assembly in Gujranwala Division here during the fiscal year 2016-17 while Rs500 million each more would be provided to these National Assembly’s constituencies during the next fiscal year 2017-18. Rs250 million would be spent through every MNA in his constituency.

The Punjab government would issue the special development funds of Rs5.64 billion to all the 46 constituencies of Punjab Assembly in Gujranwala Division, as Rs125 million would be spent through each MPA.

The government has also sought details of all the development schemes in their electoral constituencies from the local MNAs and MPAs in Gujranwala Division.

A special divisional monitoring committee has also been monitored the situation for the purpose; the senior officials added.

YOUTH DROWNS: A youth namely Ali Raza (26) drowned in River Chenab while bathing there near village Dera Mai Malaani-Head Marala. Rescue 1122 fished out his dead body from the river. He was laid to rest in his native graveyard at Ghazipur-Sialkot. A large number of the people attended his funeral.

PGMEA BODY ELECTED UNOPPOSED

Gloves’ exporter Suhail Masud was elected unopposed as the chairman of Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PGMEA) during its annual elections. Qamar Muneer and Muhammad Arshad were also elected unopposed as senior vice chairman and vice chairman of PGMEA respectively.
