MQM former deputy convenor joins PSP

KARACHI – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) former deputy convenor Nasir Jamal announced on Thursday to join Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), along with 1,602 office-bearers and workers, mainly from MQM.

They made this announcement at a press conference held here at PSP headquarters, Pakistan House.

Speaking on the occasion, PSP President Anis Qaimkhani said that induction of such a large number of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) workers in PSP today had dented the so-called stakeholder of the city. Informing the media men that about 3,500 workers of MQM-P had joined PSP during the last one month, Qaimkhani termed it an end to MQM-P’s political era.

Criticising MQM-P Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar, he said it should be noted that Sattar got himself dry cleaned in just one night whereas the other workers of the party remained criminals. “Those workers are now joining the PSP who were branded by the MQM-P leaders as disloyal and criminals,” he added.

“Sattar should reconsider his stance, Qaimkhani counselled.

PSP president further said that the chapter of MQM was over. “It is foreign countries-funded party and should be banned immediately for violating Political Parties’ Act 1972,” he demanded.

Speaking on the occasion, PSP leader Dr Sagheer Ahmed asked Sattar to pinpoint the institution, which, in his opinion, was pressurizing the notables and workers of MQM to join PSP in huge numbers.

He also asked PML-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders to question Farooq Sattar why did he advise Nawaz Sharif to join Pak Sarzameen Party?

Addressing the press conference, former deputy convener of MQM Nasir Jamal said that Farooq Sattar must stop fooling the people as he had joined PSP of his free will.
