PPP flays protocol given to ex-PM
BAHAWALPUR-The PPP strongly condemned the special protocol given to disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif on his arrival in NAB office.
It demanded the court take suo motu notice against the authorities providing illegal protocol for Nawaz Sharif as he is a convict and facing corruption cases. It said he had stolen the national exchequer as PM. He usurped the basic rights of the poor and destroyed the national exchequer against the national interests, it added. People of Pakistan had rejected him after his disqualification by the apex court, it added.
PPP South Punjab Spokesman Bhatti said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not forget the day when he refused to meet with PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for his petty vested interests. He further said, “Nawaz shouldn’t put the burden of his difficulties on democracy as he even refused to take the parliament into confidence for democracy.”
He urged National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chief Javed Iqbal to take note of the arrest of former Sindh minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and against the illegal protocol of Nawaz Sharif. He demanded the equal law for all the citizens; saying there should be no discrimination between Lahore and Larkana.
He said Benazir Bhutto defended herself in all the courts as an ordinary citizen without any protocol although she was entitled for it being the former PM. Later, all the cases were withdrawn by the courts as she was declared innocent. He said that Nawaz had lost public trust in him and has no role in the future politics of Pakistan.
